Looking at historical returns in years, or likewise trying to project the next year, is entirely the wrong type of mindset to take when investing. It only makes sense when we look at investing in terms of quarter centuries.
It's the year 2025 and we now have a full quarter century of return data for the 21st century, including the results of investing in actual investible ETFs. I take a look at this, the aberration that was the past 15 years on U.S. markets, and update my return quilt showing various investible asset classes, from the Canadian investor perspective, for the past 14 years.
